Georgia B. Meyer, 102, formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 16, 1903, near Jackson, daughter of Samuel McFerron and Lillian Day McFerron Loos. She and Herman H. Meyer were married in January 1924. He passed away Dec. 19, 1955.
In her younger years, Georgia worked in a shoe factory in St. Louis. After her marriage they moved to a farm north of Jackson. She baby-sat for numerous children through the years. She was the oldest member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stella M. and Kenny Strack of Cape Girardeau; four granddaughters, Pat Gohn and Kathy Carlton of Jackson, Carol Lehmann of Marble Hill, Mo., Teresa Brenner of Omaha, Neb.; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, three brothers, two half sisters, and four half brothers.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
