Georgia Bell Meyer, 102, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born June 16, 1903, near Jackson, daughter of Samuel McFerron and Lillian Day McFerron Loos. She and Herman H. Meyer were married in January 1924, and he died Dec. 19, 1955.
Meyer worked at a shoe factory in St. Louis in her early years and later baby-sat for numerous children through the years. She was the oldest member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include a daughter, Stella M. Stack of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, three brothers, two half sisters and four half brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
