SIKESTON -- Georgia Houchens, 95, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1904, in Stuttgart, Ark., daughter of R.M. and Stella Kincheloe Houchens.
Houchens received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1931.
She taught second through eighth grades at Sikeston Public Schools 35 years. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, and was organist until age 90.
Survivors include a niece, Sue Piscatelli of Sikeston; and a nephew, James Houchens of Miami, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
