ANNA, Ill. -- George Watson, 72, of Anna, died Tuesday, May 12, 1992, at the VA Medical Center in Marion. He was born Sept. 7, 1919, at Villa Ridge, son of Ralph and Mary Hayden Watson. ANNA, Ill. -- George Watson, 72, of Anna, died Tuesday, May 12, 1992, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Sept. 7, 1919, at Villa Ridge, son of Ralph and Mary Hayden Watson. His wife, Grace, died in 1991.

Watson worked 17 years at Southern Illinois Breeding Association at Breeze, and was plant operator 18 years at General Foods in Kankakee.

Survivors include two sons, William Watson of Tamms, Robert Watson of Pittsburg, Texas; three sisters, Lora McClain of Mounds, Sarah Brust of Carterville, Beulah Howard of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four brothers, Albert Watson of Olmsted, Ralph Watson of Olive Branch, Leroy Watson of Villa Ridge, John Watson of Mounds, and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Chapel in Karnak. The Rev. Steve Sheppard will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, with graveside military rites.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
