George W. Plumb, 51, 232 Edgewood, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1991, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1939, at Allenville, son of Burnett and Alpha Cleo Surlet Plumb. He and Donna Marie Jacobson were married Sept. 20, 1975, in Albany, Calif. Plumb served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He had been manager of VFW Post 3838 six years. George W. Plumb, 51, 232 Edgewood, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1991, at his home.

He was born Nov. 4, 1939, at Allenville, son of Burnett and Alpha Cleo Surlet Plumb. He and Donna Marie Jacobson were married Sept. 20, 1975, in Albany, Calif.

Plumb served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He had been manager of VFW Post 3838 six years. He was a lifetime member of the post, and member of Eagles Aerie 3775.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julie and Holly Plumb; his mother and stepfather, Alpha and Raymond Hutson; two brothers, Burnett Plumb Jr. and Joe Margrabe, all of Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park, with graveside service by VFW Post 3838.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
