JACKSON -- George Calvin Sitze, 68, of Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born May 9, 1929, near Marquand, son of Leon and Ester Monie Sitze. He and Opaline Tripp were married Nov. 25, 1948, in St. Louis.

Sitze was self-employed in the Cape Girardeau-Jackson area from 1959-96. He first owned and operated The Elevated Tank and Tower Service, and later owned and operated TDK Trucking Co. He was a member of Moore's Chapel Baptist Church near Marquand.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Klevorn of St. Louis, Debra Wasley of Omaha; a brother, Coy Sitze of LaCrosse, Wis.; a sister, Reva Sitze of Marquand; six grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating. Burial will be in Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
