CAPE GIRARDEAU -- George R. (Truckey) Trottier, 74, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, in Seattle.

He was born Aug. 14, 1918, at Seattle, Wash., son of William Russell and Charlotte E. Weller Truckey.

He married Marie D. nee' Nault in 1945.

Trottier served in the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1937 to December 1945, including duty in Hawaii and Iceland and action in the South Pacific at Iwo Jima and Bougainville.

He earned a B.A. degree at Northern Michigan University, M.A. at University of Michigan and a Doctorate at Wayne State University, Detroit.

With his immediate family, he changed his name back to its original form, Trottier, in 1976.

Trottier retired from an associate professorship at Southeast Missouri State University in 1983, and moved to Seattle two years later.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Charlene and Carolyn; three sons, Richard, Claude and Paul; and three grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Church in Seattle.
