The funeral for George Ferris Knight Jr. of Williamson, Ga., was held Monday at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home in Griffin, Ga. The Rev. Robert Land officiated. Burial was in Williamson United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Knight, 69, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Spalding Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of George Ferris and Bessie Gale Kitchen Knight Sr.
Knight was security chief at Spalding Regional Hospital, and a former police chief at Chaffee, Mo. He was a member of Williamson United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a sister, Jeanine Ward of Williamson; and a brother, Charles Knight of Barnesville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
