MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- George Lee Kirkpatrick, 68, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1939, near Marble Hill, son of Marvin J. and Annie K. Long Kirkpatrick. He and Margie P. Cook were married Aug. 25, 1956. She died Feb. 11, 2001.
Kirkpatrick was a member of the Plainview Congregation Methodist Church. He worked for many years in the trucking business as an over-the-road owner-operator.
Survivors include three sons, William Kirkpatrick and Jamie Kirkpatrick, both of Marble Hill, and Rickey Kirkpatrick of St. Louis; two brothers, James Kirkpatrick of Marble Hill and Junior Kirkpatrick of Vanduser, Mo.; three sisters, Geraldine Cook of Marble Hill, Dorothy Welker of Benton, Mo., and Kathy Kirkpatrick of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a special friend, Lorna Long of Marble Hill; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and an infant brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Ray Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus, Mo.
