George R. Heuer, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 29, 1916, in Cape Girardeau, son of August A. and Lena A. Meyer Heuer. He and Pauline Anderson were married June 30, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
Heuer was a longtime farmer in the area and was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church. He was active in church organizations, the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service and served on the Jackson School Board. He also helped with the development of the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenny Heuer of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Charlotte Edwards of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hanover Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
