Funeral service for George H. Callis of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Wright officiating. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. at Dublin Baptist Church Cemetery in Dublin, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Callis, 86, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Monday, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 16, 1906, in Mississippi County, son of Sidney and Lillie Romain Callis. He and Novella Myatt were married Feb. 25, 1933, in Paducah, Ky. She died Nov. 2, 1970.

Callis was a carpenter.

Survivors include a son, George Callis of Jackson; a daughter, Naomi Finley of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Sidney Callis of Miller City, Ill., Joseph Callis of Columbia, Ill.; two sisters, Frances Campbell and Mary Possett of Dupo, Ill.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
