JACKSON -- George G. Gerler, 56, Jackson Route 1 died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1992 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 18, 1936 in Shawneetown, the son of Bernhard and Lona Doberenz Gerler.
On May 21, 1960, he married Anna Marie Biri. 1960 She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Brian Gerler, Stanley, Va.; three daughters, Kathy Whittley, Advance, Saundra Lix, Millersville, Brenda Henry, Burfordville; one brother, Leo Gerler, Bloomsdale; five sisters, Norma Seward, Mason City Ill., Bernice Priest, Augusta, Ga., Maxine Coursey, Grovetown, Ga., Dorothy Bachmann, Hazelwood, Ruby Kramer, Manchester; and four grandchildren.
He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church at Shawneetown and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
He worked as warehouse manager for R.C. Cola in Cape Girardeau, and since 1988 he has been custodian at Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau.
He had been hospitalized since Oct. 14.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4-8 p.m.
