SIKESTON -- George DeRoush, 83, of LaCrescenta, Calif., died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1991, at 8 a.m. at the Verdugo Hills Hospital in California.
He was born Jan. 23, 1908 in Point Pleasant, Mo. son of George DeRoush Sr. and Addie Bell Slayton DeRoush.
He had been a self-employed gardener. He was member of the Elks Lodge in Tujunga, Calif.
On Nov. 25, 1930, he married Edna Reynolds, who preceded him in death June 9, 1946. In 1954, he married Edith Jane Tucker, who preceded him in death June 23, 1979.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Williams of Yuma, Ariz., Georgia Dement of Dexter and Shirley Mainord of Matthews, Mo.; three stepdaughters, June Hoffman of Quartz Hill, Calif., Shirley Clawson of Marysville, Wash., and Delores Bobbitt of Palmdale, Calif.; a stepson, Raymond Tucker, of Canyon Country, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a stepson.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with the Rev. Kelly Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
