McCLURE, Ill. George A. Baugher of McClure, Ill. died Sunday, Aug. 11, 1991, at his home.
Baugher, 70, was born Dec. 11, 1920, at McClure, son of Albert and Molly Jero Baugher.
He first married Stella Kelley, Aug. 25, 1945, at Jackson. She died in February of 1988. He then married Etta Mae Walker, Oct. 11, 1988, at Cape Girardeau. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, George ("Mick") Baugher, Peoria Heights, Ill.; stepson William Walker, E. Alton, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Doris Coleman, E. Alton, and Sharon White of McClure; a sister, Betty Lantz, Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mark Baugher, Mary Baugher, and Michael Baugher, all of Peoria Heights; 19 step grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany. He was a member of the Cape Girardeau VFW.
He worked for the Illinois State School at Lincoln, Ill. for a number of years. He also worked for Cutler & Hammer Co. at Lincoln. He also worked at the old hay mill, and egg hatchery, at McClure. He moved to McClure in 1988, from San Jose, Ill.
Service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Chapel on Sprigg St., with the Rev. Greg Morrison and the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiation. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
