Gentry Edwin "Bud" Matthews, 79, of Nixa, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Cox South Medical Center.
He was born March 25, 1925, at Chaffee, Mo.
Matthews retired as an agent with Frisco Railroad in 1981.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; two sons, Edwin Matthews of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., Mark Matthews of Nixa; a daughter, Helena Crosby of St. Peters, Mo.; five sisters, Loraine Halter and Edith Lansmon of Cape Girardeau, Christine Unnerstall of Mount Ida, Ark., Virginia Phillips of Morley, Mo., Gloria Laub of Chaffee; a stepson, John Jones; and three grandchildren.
The funeral was held Feb. 22 at Walnut Lawn Funeral Chapel in Springfield, Mo. Burial with full military honors was in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Springfield.
