JONESBORO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Genie Harvel of Jonesboro will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home. The Rev. Arnold Ranta will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Harvel, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester.

She was born Dec. 9, 1905, at Mill Creek, daughter of Charles W. and Ora Elmina Hileman.

Harvel retired from Anna State Hospital in 1972. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, George Harvel of Chester; a daughter, Bernett Cerny of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters, five brothers and a grandson.
