LIMA, Ohio -- Genevieve R. Blanchard, 87, of Lima died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at her home.
She was born Nov., 8, 1911, at Lima, daughter of Martin and Kathryn S. McCrate O'Brien. She and Theodore L. Blanchard were married June 20, 1939. He died in 1988.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the St. Gerard Church and its Altar-Rosary Society. She was also an alumna of the St. Ursula's Academy in Toledo and a 1933 graduate of the St. Rita's School of Nursing.
She is survived by six sons, David Blanchard of Fairfax, Va., Theodore M. Blanchard of Dubuque, Iowa, Kevin, Matthew and Stephen Blanchard, all of Lima, and Mark Blanchard of Ayersville, Ohio; a daughter, Bridget Blanchard of Bowling Green, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, three sisters, brother and grandson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the St. Gerard Catholic Chruch at Lima. The Rev. Steven Haynes will officiate, with burial to follow at Gethsemani Cemetery.
Hogenkamp Rousculp Funeral Home at Lima is in charge of arrangements.
