Geneva Oliver

Geneva D. Oliver, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1924, at Delta, daughter of John E. and Nelda Rottler Davenport. She and Ivan Oliver were married June 27, 1943, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 19, 1996.

Geneva retired in 1985 from Equitable Financial Services in Cape Girardeau, where she was a district secretary. Prior to that she was employed as a secretary for the same company in Hannibal, Mo. She also was a secretary 14 years in the admissions office at Hannibal-LaGrange College, where Ivan was a faculty member 24 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau and Naomi Sunday School Class.

Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
