She was born in Puxico, Missouri, to Grover and Alice Haggerty Hartle.

She had an amazing love for animals, most especially her beloved dogs. She loved to dance and sing, and had a passion for beautiful flowers, cooking and her country. She loved dressing for every occasion, and was always recognized for her ageless beauty, fashionable style and gracefulness. She had a funny, quick wit and was known for her cute cliches, known better as "Ginny-isms."
Geneva was a lifetime member of Red Star Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary No. 3838, SEMO District Fair Association Committee, Cape Girardeau County Election Committee and Auxiliary Elks Lodge No. 639.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Rocky) Prasse of Chesterfield, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Linda McKinnis of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Ryan Prasse of St. Louis, Jessica (Rob) Prasse of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Dustin McKinnis of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Prasse and Kayla Prasse, both of Chesterfield; two sisters-in-law, Sharon McKinnis of St. Louis and Alice McKinnis of Imperial, Missouri; and nieces and nephews.
