GENE MCLARD

OAK RIDGE -- Funeral service for Gene R. McLard of Oak Ridge will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Michael Woods will officiate, with burial in Old Apple Creek Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time.

McLard, 73, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 17, 1924, at Neelys Landing, son of Cross and Marie Anderson McLard.

McLard worked on the family farm, was a lineman at General Motors in St. Louis 13 years, and had worked with Defenders at Procter & Gamble. He was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post in Jackson, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a friend, Juanita Russell of Oak Ridge.
