SIKESTON -- Gene Massey, 55, Sikeston Route 4, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 6, 1942, at Arbyrd, son of Edd and Bertie Carter Massey. He and Imogene Ross were married Nov. 28, 1961, at Dexter.
Massey was retired from Malone and Hyde Drug Division. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tim Massey of Sikeston; a daughter, Melany Buttry of Sikeston; four brothers, Bill Massey of Marble Hill, Don and Eddie Massey of Sikeston, Jim Massey of Scott, Ark.; a sister, Dorothy Stroud of Wappapello; and six grandchildren, including Jessica, Timmy and Katherine Massey, who reside in the home.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery at Bernie.
