SCOTT CITY -- Galen Ceebern "Slim" Kerby, 90, of Scott City, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 1994, at his home.
He was born Feb. 24, 1904, in Colgate, Okla., son of Foster and Lear Fultz Kerby. He and Catherine Strosnider were married March 25, 1929, in Wewoka, Okla.
Kerby was a mechanic at Schneider Equipment Co. in Cape Girardeau, and after retiring owned and operated Kerby's Bait Shop 25 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Kerby of Benton, Mike Kerby of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy Ingemanson of Norcross, Ga.; a sister, Myrtis McDaniel of Camp Verde, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a brother, two sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lightner Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating.
