Gary Kitchen, 77, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at his home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to Noah Pink and Esther Mae Hinkle Kitchen. He and Jeanette Johnson were married Sept. 20, 1971, at Portageville, Missouri. She preceded him in death July 23, 2013.
Gary worked for the City of Cape Girardeau for 36 years as a mechanic and retired as the fleet foreman.
In his spare time, Gary loved to work on diesel engines and to work in his garden.
Survivors include sons, Shane (Cammi) Kitchen and Caleb W. Kitchen of Jackson; brother, Jack Kitchen of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren, Aubrey, Ezra, Cayleanne, Noah, Garrison, Ava and Isaiah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers, Clarence and Leonard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Torreson officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
