Gary loved golfing, camping and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and was passionate about the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. But most of all, Gary loved life and he loved his family. He was a big strong man with an even bigger heart. He was known as son, husband, daddy, "pa," brother and friend, and he was loved by us all.

He was preceded in death by Donnie Bybee, father in-law.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kara Womble and husband Robert of Decatur, Texas; a son, Clint Faries and wife Millie of Neosho, Mo.; two precious grandchildren, Kitson Womble and Irelyn Faries; parents, Daniel and Jessie Faries of Wappapello, Mo.; a brother, Kenneth Faries and wife Sylvia of Nashville, Tenn.; extended family and countless friends.

Heritage Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Skin Cancer Foundation, www.skincancer.org, or a favorite charity.
