CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Gary Gene Bond, son to the late Cecil and Mayme Opal Moore Bond, was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Chaffee and departed his life Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 73 years

Gary married Beverly Hargraves on Nov. 6, 1971, and she survives of the home in Chaffee.

He owned and operated a drywall company before retirement. He attended the Randles (Missouri) Baptist Church.

Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal, and a Combat Infantry Badge.

He is survived by his loving wife; two sons, Troy Bond and Brandon Bond, both of Chaffee; daughter, Samantha (Todd) Weber of Alexandria, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Susan (James), Dailey (Triston), Savannah, Jacob, Brendon and Kaitlyn.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Bond, and two sisters, LaDonna Blechle and Norma Bollinger.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Randles Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church with the Revs. Leeman Shirrel and Jack Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Randles Baptist Church.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
