Funeral service for Garnet E. Williamson, 1053 W. Cape Rock Drive, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m.
Williamson, 91, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
He was born Feb. 17, 1906, in Cape Girardeau, son of John H. and Ella Rayburn Williamson. He and Agnes Marie Headrick were married Feb. 9, 1925. She died March 14, 1996.
Williamson worked 40 years at the former International Shoe Co., retiring as a foreman in 1973. He then worked for a time at Cape Paint and Glass. He was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jim L. Williamson of Jackson; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.
