Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Heise, 88, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born April 21, 1908, at Egypt Mills, son of Gustav L. and Anna Abernathy Heise. He and Della Deevers were married Sept. 7, 1929, in Cape Girardeau.

Raised on a farm at Egypt Mills, Heise was a graduate of Central High School. He played semi-pro baseball many years with the Capahas and other area teams.

A realtor more than 50 years, Heise joined Deevers and Brown Realty and Insurance and Southeast Savings and Loan Association in 1929. He was president and CEO of Southeast Savings when it became Farm and Home Savings and Loan in 1973.

Heise was a member of Trinity Church, Southeast Missouri Seniors Golf Association, and a former member of the Rotary Club. He served in the military from February 1943 to September 1945.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Della Dee Besher of Town and Country; a twin brother, Dale Heise, a brother, Harry Heise, both of Egypt Mills; three sisters, Grace Hobbs of Springfield, Lillian Cundiff of Tampa, Fla., Nelda Hobbs of Hot Springs, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
