MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Gail Aileen Greer, 92, of Marble Hill passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her daughters.
She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Zalma, Missouri, daughter of Hobart Randolph and Opha Ethel Dunn James. She and Howard Greer were united in marriage March 16, 1941, and he passed away Sept. 28, 2002.
Gail was co-owner of Greer IGA in Marble Hill, a MYF youth leader, Girl Scout leader and a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church and choir.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Tom) Frerker of Carlyle, Illinois, Cathi Greer of Marble Hill and Deborah L. (Marshall) Binford of Eufaula, Alabama; grandchildren, Debby, Amy, Sara, Jamey, Katy, Kerrick, Caroline and Butch; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Carl and Dale, and sister, Mary Lou Broyles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marble Hill United Methodist Church or to Woodland Hills Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Marble Hill United Methodist Church.
The funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the church, with Pastor Janet Hopkins officiating. Private graveside services will be Monday in Carlyle.
