Gail E. Fletcher, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born July 10, 1925, in Corning, Ark., to John Timothy and Mary M. Griffith Emmons. She and Norman Fletcher were married in April 1997 at McClure, Ill.

Fletcher worked at Saint Francis Medical Center, Southeast Missouri State University and at Lindy-Line Restaurant as a cook. She was a member of East Cape Baptist Church, VFW and American Legion auxiliaries, TOPS and River City Workers of the Blind.

Survivors include her husband, Norman Fletcher of Cape Girardeau; a son, J.B. (Kim) McClard of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Colleen Flowers of Mission, Texas, Diane (Howard) Nix of Sherman, Texas, Dessilee (Marty) Mueller of Kelso, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Tyke Schleinger of Mannington, W.Va.; a son-in-law, Bill Gilkey of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Linden Emmons of Paducah, Ky., Vernon Emmons of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Glenda Henry, Tucson, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Schleinger; a daughter, Janice Gilkey; a son-in-law, Norman Flowers; a grandson, Loren E. Flowers; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Joyce officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Gilkey, Isaac Flowers, Cody McClard, Arron Mueller, Jonathan Mueller and Josh Beard.
