VILLA RIDGE, Ill. --G. Wayne Berryhill, 63, of Villa Ridge, Ill., died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Mr. Berryhill was born April 7, 1942, at Tupelo, Miss., son of Jeff and Earlene Hawkins Berryhill. He and Brenda Clifford were married Sept. 5, 1960, in Cairo, Ill. She survives him...

VILLA RIDGE, Ill. --G. Wayne Berryhill, 63, of Villa Ridge, Ill., died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mr. Berryhill was born April 7, 1942, at Tupelo, Miss., son of Jeff and Earlene Hawkins Berryhill. He and Brenda Clifford were married Sept. 5, 1960, in Cairo, Ill. She survives him.

Mr. Berryhill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, Ill., was a graduate of Cairo High School and Cape Business College.

Mr. Berryhill served as cost accountant for Penzel Construction Co. of Jackson until his retirement in 1980. He was co-owner of Stop-N-Shop Supermarket in Mounds at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife; Brenda Berryhill; a son, Jeff Berryhill, both of Villa Ridge; two sisters, Claudette Sanders of Kevil, Ky., Libby Davis of Tupelo; two granddaughters, Lisa and Amy Berryhill, both of Cape Girardeau.

There will be no visitation.

Graveside funeral services for G. Wayne Berryhill will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds.

Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery prior to the hour of services Monday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cairo Elks BPO Lodge 651 building fund, 217 8th Street, Cairo, Ill. 62914 in memory of G. Wayne Berryhill.

Jones Funeral Home of Villa Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
