Frieda L. Thorn, 85, of Kankakee, Ill., died Friday, June 15, 2001, at Manor Care in Kankakee.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1915, at Advance, daughter of James H. and Hollie T. Roberts Collins.
She and James M. Thorn were married Feb. 25, 1940, at Charleston, Mo. He died May 3, 1976.
She lived in Kankakee for over 30 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kankakee, as well as a Sunday school class and the Women's Circle at the church. She worked for Kroehler Furniture in Kankakee for 10 years, retiring in 1978. She made dolls for the Salvation Army and volunteered at Asbury United Methodist Church Thrift Shop.
Survivors include a brother, Raymond J. Collins of Marble Hill, Mo.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
