TAMMS, Ill. -- Frieda Y. Powless, 86, of Tamms died Friday, March 2, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 19, 1914, at Delta, Ill., daughter of Howard O. and Jessie Wilson Young.
She and Henry Powless were married Dec. 23, 1933. He died April 20, 1986.
She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She retired as a case worker with the Illinois Department of Public Aid after 28 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Bill Powless of Tamms; a daughter, Patty Baker of McClure, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Revs. Gene Hart and Clint Nale will officiate. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery.
