Frieda Meyer
Frieda C. Meyer, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of George H. and Bertha Blumenberg Meyer.
Frieda was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1936. She was described in her yearbook as "a moody musician." She was a member of numerous clubs and sports teams. Perhaps she is best remembered as she is described in her junior year as having a smile and a helping hand for everyone.
She worked in the city clerk's office in Cape Girardeau for many years. Frieda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include cousins Venieta Willbrand of St. Charles, Mo., Robert Meyer of Sikeston, Mo., and other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Meyer; a brother, Alvin Meyer; and two sisters, Esther and Alma Meyer.
Friends may call from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Nathan Burgell will officiate, with burial in Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
