GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Frieda S. Eggimann, 92, of Gordonville died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Saxony Village in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 18, 1909, in Gordonville, daughter of Martin and Ida Muster Hellwege. She was raised by William and Mary Sander. She and Lewis H. Eggimann were married Dec. 31, 1933. He died July 15, 1984...

GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Frieda S. Eggimann, 92, of Gordonville died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Saxony Village in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 18, 1909, in Gordonville, daughter of Martin and Ida Muster Hellwege. She was raised by William and Mary Sander. She and Lewis H. Eggimann were married Dec. 31, 1933. He died July 15, 1984.

Mrs. Eggimann was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, and was a Sunday school teacher. She was baptized April 17, 1909, at Zion Lutheran Church. She was confirmed April 9, 1922, at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

She was a part-time seamstress and worked many years at the former Lambert Fabric Store in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Marilyn Eggimann of Gordonville; a daughter-in-law, Elsie Eggimann of Gordonville; four grandchildren, Randy and Brent Eggimann of Gordonville, Mark Eggimann of Pueblo, Colo., Bradley Eggimann of Jackson, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Lauren and Lynne Eggimann of Gordonville, Teddy Eggimann of Cape Girardeau, Blake Eggimann of Gordonville, Malinda and Matthew Eggimann of Jackson; two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron and Mercedes Eggimann of Cape Girardeau; two half sisters, Ida Robert and Gladys Steele of Cape Girardeau; and a half brother, Orren Hellwege of Taunton, Mass.

She was preceded in death by a son, Delmar Eggimann, and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville after 9 a.m.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Zion Organ Fund.
