Chaffee -- Funeral service for Freeman Hubert Choate of Chaffee will be held at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Arvil Huffman will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.
Choate, 75, died Tuesday, May 28, 1996, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Bell City, son of John and Mayme Downs Choate. He and Pauline Shultz were married 55 years ago.
Choate was a former electrician at Noranda Aluminum Inc. in New Madrid. He was a member of Chaffee Masonic Lodge No. 615, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1 of St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lee Choate of Talkeetna, Alaska, Rick Choate of Sikeston; two sisters, Dorothy Ramano of Sullivan, Ill., Dotsie Kent of Bradley, Ill; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
