Frederick Tyre "Terry" Endean, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1940, in Crawfordsville, Ind., son of Merle W. and Helena Fern Whittington Endean. He and Diane Marie Grabelle were married Aug. 9, 1974, in Chicago.
Endean was a 1958 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School, received a degree in history from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 1964, and a master's in education instructional materials at SIU in 1973.
He was a school media specialist in Cairo, Ill., public schools from 1973 to 1989. He worked at the Linda Godwin Center at Southeast Missouri State University from 1991 to 1993, and then at Menard Correctional Center as a librarian and then GED teacher from February 1994 until retiring in December 2002.
Endean was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Rotary Club in Cape Girardeau. He was a Boy Scouts of America executive in the 1960s in Indiana. He also belonged to the Choral Union at Southeast.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Endean of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Linda Kaimann of Huntsville, Ala., and Joyce Monschein of Nashville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today. A vigil service will be held at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Vincent's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Charles Prost officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
