WHITEWATER -- Funeral service for Frederick Deneke, Whitewater Route 1, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Zion Methodist Church in Gordonville. The Rev. Tom Gross will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Virgil Bunch. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Deneke, 76, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 15, 1915, near Gordonville, son of George H. and Lydia M. Sander Deneke. He and Meta Koch were married April 26, 1940.

Deneke was a representative with Moorman's Feed Co. 13 years. He was a former board member of both the Gordonville Mutual Insurance Co. and Whitewater Fire Department.

He was an active member of Cape Girardeau County Fair Association, and had been active in the 4-H clubs' swine division at SEMO District Fair. He was a lifelong member of Zion Church, and charter member of its Men's Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Deneke of Whitewater; a daughter, Barbara Reitzel of Whitewater; two foster brothers, Charles "Butch" Neumeyer, Jackson Route 2, David G. Sander of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
