Frederick E. Boettcher, 63, of St. Louis died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1936, in St. Louis, son of Elmer and Youple Bailey Boettcher. Boettcher was a newscaster at KFVS-TV in the 1960s. He was a manufacturer's representative for Lenco Inc. in Jackson several years. Boettcher owned Frederick's Music Lounge in St. Louis 20 years...

Frederick E. Boettcher, 63, of St. Louis died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1936, in St. Louis, son of Elmer and Youple Bailey Boettcher.

Boettcher was a newscaster at KFVS-TV in the 1960s. He was a manufacturer's representative for Lenco Inc. in Jackson several years. Boettcher owned Frederick's Music Lounge in St. Louis 20 years.

He was a musician and entertainer most of his life. He was a member of VFW Post 8888 in St. Louis.

Boettcher served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Gabbie Mason of Thebes, Ill., Theresa Fox of Middleton, Del.; four sons, Frederick Jr. and Robert Boettcher of St. Louis, Thomas Boettcher of McClure, Ill., George Boettcher of North Lauderdale, Fla.; his father and stepmother, Elmer and Gladys Boettcher of St. Louis; two sisters, Donna Neuendorf of Barnhart, Doris Smith of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Boettcher of DeSoto; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kriegshauser South Mortuary in St. Louis.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, with full military honors.
