CHARLESTON -- Freddie Scott, 78, of Charleston died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at the Audubon Health Care Center.
He was born Aug. 13, 1917, at Charleston, son of Alex and Tiny Scott. He and Laura P. Brewer were married in 1937. She preceded him in death.
Survivors are seven daughters, Alfredia Campbell of Cape Girardeau, Martha Love and Jacquline Scott, both of Milwaukee, Vivian Turton of Chicago, Daphane Jackson of Olmsted, Ill., Tammie Scott of Mounds, Ill., and Shirley Scott of Virginia; sons, Louis Scott and Thomas Scott, both of Milwaukee, Anthony Scott of Hinesville, Ga., Jerome Scott of Chicago, Jimmie Pounds of Olmsted and Chester Scott and Shawn Scott, both of Mounds; three brothers, Bob, Sonny and Clarence Scott; 30 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston. The Rev. Steve Betts will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
