EAST PRAIRIE -- Freda Ellen Keener Yeager, 85, of East Prairie died Wednesday, June 28, 1995, in Shreveport, La. She was born June 26, 1910, in the Grape Ridge Community near Portageville, the daughter of Fred Robert and Ellen Dowdy Keener. She married Billy W. Yeager July 7, 1953. EAST PRAIRIE -- Freda Ellen Keener Yeager, 85, of East Prairie died Wednesday, June 28, 1995, in Shreveport, La.

She was born June 26, 1910, in the Grape Ridge Community near Portageville, the daughter of Fred Robert and Ellen Dowdy Keener.

She married Billy W. Yeager July 7, 1953. She and her husband owned and operated Yeagers Package Store. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include a son, E. Rodger McConnel of Cascade, Mont., and a brother, Charles E. Keener of Alhambra, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Shelby Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest Brown, pastor of the Alexander Freewill Baptist Church of Olive Branch, Ill., officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
