ELDON -- Freda W. Weeks, 98, of Eldon died Saturday, March 23, 1996, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Oct. 5, 1897, in Olean, the daughter of Dr. Grant D. and Margaret Haynes Walker. She married Curtis G. Weeks on Oct. 31, 1917, in Eldon. He died Feb. 17, 1970.
Weeks was a graduate of Eldon High School and William Woods College in Fulton. She was a longtime resident of the Eldon community, where she was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and taught Sunday School for 70 years. She also was a member of Chapter CH of PEO, Euterpean Club and Mid-Missouri China Painters and was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Parent-Teacher Association.
Survivors include a son, Dr. G.R. Weeks of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Margaret Rose Foote of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Grousnick officiating. Burial will follow in Eldon City Cemetery.
