ORAN -- Freda I. Rhodes, 89, of Oran died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 18, 1910, at Hornersville, daughter of John Henry and Dora Lee Link Schrader. She and Barney Rhodes were married Dec. 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. He died Aug. 18, 1975...

ORAN -- Freda I. Rhodes, 89, of Oran died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 18, 1910, at Hornersville, daughter of John Henry and Dora Lee Link Schrader. She and Barney Rhodes were married Dec. 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. He died Aug. 18, 1975.

Formerly of Cape Girardeau, she moved to Oran in 1975 from Whitewater. She had been a presser at Rigdon's Laundry in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Rhodes of Oran, John Rhodes of St. Charles; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
