SCOTT CITY -- Fred Thomas Woods, 79, of Scott City, died Sunday, June 2, 1996, at Westwood Hills Health Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Floral, Ark., son of William Arthur and Lucy Rose Woods. He and Roberta Ivern Carlton were married Jan. 3, 1953. She died April 23, 1993.
Woods was a retired maintenance worker with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a stepson, Jim Sturm of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Pat Dale of Cape Girardeau; six brothers, Levi, Jack, Ben, Victor and Jimmy Woods of Ellsinore, B.H. Woods of Mt. Vernon; seven stepgrandchildren, and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Amick- Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Harold Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
