EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Fred A. Rieck, 75, of East Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his home. He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, son of James U. and Marie Leimbrook Rieck. Rieck owned and operated Associated Realty in Cape Girardeau. EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Fred A. Rieck, 75, of East Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, son of James U. and Marie Leimbrook Rieck.

Rieck owned and operated Associated Realty in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 3838, and Rotary Club, and former member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111.

He received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, John Rieck of Kansas City, Paul Rieck of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Ellen Tappon of Corvallis, Ore.; a brother, Jim Rieck of St. Louis; a sister, Rita Gregg of Norman, Okla.; a friend, Marilyn Needham of East Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Dan Schulte will officiate.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau after 10 a.m. Saturday.
