FRED R. SCHANKS

ADVANCE -- Funeral service for Fred R. Schanks of Advance will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Frank Schanks and Bob Porter will officiate, with burial in Clubb Cemetery near Gipsy.

Schanks, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 28, 1918, at Zalma, son of Charles Franklin and May Wagner Schanks. He and Clella Key were married April 17, 1954, at Arab. She died Jan. 16, 1990.

Schanks was employed by Missouri State Highway Department more than 20 years, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 545 AF&AM at Zalma.

Survivors include a brother, Bill Schanks of St. Charles; four sisters, Ruth Meador of Gipsy, Jean Foelsch and Donna Schanks of St. Louis, Maxine Deckard of Lowndes; three stepsons, Rick, Larry and John Key of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
