Fred C. Lee, 74, of Cape Girardeau died unexpectedly Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Cape Girardeau County, son of William and Emma Cato Lee. He and Geraldine Eulinberg were married in 1947.
Lee was a 1945 graduate of John S. Cobb High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Meritorious Unit Award, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal.
He was a member of St. James AME Church and served on the Board of Trustees.
He was a member of Harmony Lodge 40 F&AM of Prince Hall Masons of Missouri and was currently worshipful master.
He was also past district deputy, past high priest of Holy Royal Arch Masons of Southeast Missouri Chapter 8, past patron of Princess Oziel Chapter 101 Order of Eastern Star, and member of the Consistory and Shrine Club. He was a retired employee of Union Electric in 1986.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Irvin Eulinberg, Steven and William Lee, all of Cape Girardeau, Eric Lee of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Patricia Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Vickie Williams of St. Louis; a sister, Minnie Lee of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James AME Church, with the Rev. David E. Allen Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
