CHARLESTON -- Fred Coleman, 55 years old, of Metropolis, Ill., formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, April 3, 1991, in Metropolis. He was born May 12, 1935 in Charleston. Surviving are his wife, Estella Coleman of Charleston; three sons, Jarmain Coleman, Paul Coleman and Fred Coleman Jr., all of Charleston; six daughters, Christine Murray, Delorse Bostic, and Joyce, Angela, Linda and Rene Coleman, all of Charleston; a brother, Eddie Coleman, Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Ora Lee Kirkwood and Dorothy Coleman, both of Charleston; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.. ...

Surviving are his wife, Estella Coleman of Charleston; three sons, Jarmain Coleman, Paul Coleman and Fred Coleman Jr., all of Charleston; six daughters, Christine Murray, Delorse Bostic, and Joyce, Angela, Linda and Rene Coleman, all of Charleston; a brother, Eddie Coleman, Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Ora Lee Kirkwood and Dorothy Coleman, both of Charleston; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
