ANNA, Ill. -- Fred C. House of Anna died Thursday, July 18, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
House, 84, was born Jan. 21, 1907 in Clay County, Mo., son of Herbert E. and Sarah Raby House.
He married Catherine Carter. She preceded him in death in 1973. He married Alma Johnson Doggett in 1980. She survives.
House is a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Flynn, of Arlington, Va. and Narragansett, R.I.; two step-daughters, Barbara Sinkhorn, Anna, and Janet Smith, Herrin; nine step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick S. House, in 1936.
Service for House will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Al Slayter officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
