JACKSON -- Fred Broom, 86, of Jackson, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 1994, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 29, 1907, near Centralia, Ill., son of William and Thelabelle Crown Broom.
He was married to Ruth Allen.
Broom moved to Jackson in 1976 from St. Louis when he retired as an insurance salesman. He was a member of the Jackson Elks Lodge.
He served in the U.S. Army at the Panama Canal, during peacetime.
Broom attended the Good News Christian Center in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Johnny Seabaugh officiating.
Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
