Frank E. Zeman, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Oct. 6, 1923, in St. Louis, to Edward and Mary Senik Zeman. He married Lillian G. Cuba on Oct. 12, 1946. She preceded him in death June 27, 2009.

Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a jeweler, and later became a photographer for Universal Match. After leaving Universal Match, he freelanced, photographing many St. Louis landmarks and celebrities among his photo topics.

He also was an avid boater and water skier, and enjoyed his time spent at the couple's home at Lake of the Ozarks. He was a bowler and "magician" to his many nieces and nephews who loved his antics. He was fondly referred to as "Guf" (Great Uncle Frank) by his many great-nieces and -nephews.

Survivors include three nieces, Barbara (Ron) Hatton of Littleton, Colo., Joanne (the late Dan) Kohne and Carolyn (John) Bruce of St. Louis; two nephews, Richard (Rhonda) Cuba of Cape Girardeau, and Robert (Margaret) Cuba of Aurora, Colo.; 16 great-nieces and -nephews; and five great-great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by a special great-nephew, Steven Hatton. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kutis Funeral Home, St. Louis City Chapel, 2906 Gravois Ave.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Church in St. Louis. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Birthright in Cape Girardeau and may be mailed to Crain Funeral Home, 829 N. West End Blvd., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
